The Office of the City Treasurer of Iligan announced that their office is open even on Saturdays to continue the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) Program or the renewal of business permits.

According to Ms Magdalena Carpentero, acting division head of Business Tax and Fees Division (BTFD), this is because businessmen are securing business permits even though many businesses in the city were affected by flashfloods of December 2011.

The deadline of the BOSS Program is extended to February 29, previously last January 20.

As of January 20, as per record from TRACS, there were only 4,549 transactions processed at the City Treasurer’s Office since January 2; 274 new applications for business permits, 4,085 renewal and 179 retirement (business closed).

These closed businesses are from the areas in Iligan which was hit by typhoon Sendong last December 17, 2011. Most of them are small sari-sari stores according to Mr. Raoul Renee B. Sechong, TRACS Division Head.
